Sick Games

If you are easily traumatized or retraumatized, this is not the post for you, you are now done reading.

I have played a few games a fair amount over the years that are quite relevant now if you care to mix gaming with issues of our day. The first game I would point out to you is Plague Inc. It's a lot like that old board game risk, except for playing an Army, you are trying to destroy the world with an infection:
I have spent many hours on this game, and enjoyed it tremendously. 

But before Plague Inc, there was a cheesier game, which focused on the metaphor of Zombies, called Infectonator. It was a widely played flash game long before it showed up in the app store. In some ways it makes you think more about just how germs are shared between individuals:
