I can see why some of my friends, knowing how far off into right wing land they are, would vote for Trump. But I couldn't believe more people voted for Trump in 2020 than in 2016. How could he fail us as a president, right out in the top media headlines, day after day for four years and still have more people vote for him than last time?
But keep in mind the right wingers have that same feeling about Biden. A lot more voted for Joe than Hillary. They can not believe it.
It is hard to believe from either side, we are blinded in both eyes.
Can we at least try to understand the other sides views? On the most important issue - avoiding costly wars - Trump gets an A+. I am no Trump fan, but it remains to be seen if Biden will measure up to what Trump accomplished in this regard. When I mentioned this to some lefty friends of mine, a few responded that we hadn't been militarily aggressive enough over the last four years, as if they had been solid W supporters who only voted for Hillary because they did not like Trump's fashion sense.
Putin deserves a Nobel peace prize for making warfare officially cyber war. In 2015 his cyber attacks accomplished both Trump and Brexit, bringing the west to its knees. The end result is a lot less brown children being vaporized in "shock and awe" over oil profits.
These multiple culture wars in the USA are not sustainable and should be discouraged. Our self inflicted echo chambers are making it impossible for us to communicate; we can not find the words to talk with the other side anymore. It's stupid, mean spirited, and unchristian.
